ahh classic install a crash logger for your game if one exists for the script extender. The log usually names teh plugin, mesh or script involved in the crash. good luck man!

  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts i spent the whole weekend building teh perfect a post-apocalyptic RPG setup with 60 mods. started it up, and it crashes when entering one city:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

no useful error message, just straight to desktop 😤 i sorted with teh mod manager's auto-sort but nothing cahnged. i'm close to tears, how do i find teh culprit without starting over?

i have no crash log tool installed yet, and Event Viewer only shows a generic application error. Im willing to put in the work, i just need a method that doenst take all week. any ideas??

  3. ahh classic first check for missing masters. your mod manager or a tool like xEdit will flag plugins whose required master files arent present or are loaded after them. A missing master almost alawys crashes on teh main menu.

  5. lol same thing happened to me use binary search: disable half your mods, test, then narrow down the half that crashes. With many mods this finds the culprit in a handful of tests instead of dozens. worked for me anyway 🤷
