  1. ugh. quick background: new build, RX 6700 XT, everything stock. Two days ago an open-world RPG started crashing after alt-tabbing back with this:

event Viewer shows a display driver error right at teh same timestamp. im not overclocking anything 😅 before i start swapping parts like a madman, can someone tell me where to actually look first??

id really like to avoid buying parts i dont need. if someone can tell me which logs or settings to look at first, Ill happily report back with teh details. pls help 🙏

  2. uhh what PSU are you using, and is the GPU fed by separate cables or one daisy-chained cable?

  3. yeah so its a factory OC model lol No manual tuning from me, but the boost clock goes pretty high in an open-world RPG.

  4. ahh classic DEVICE_REMOVED almost always means teh driver hit a timeout or the card dropped off the bus. First check Event Viewer under Windows Logs > System for nvlddmkm (NVIDIA) or amdkmdag (AMD) entries at teh crash time, event ID 153 or 4101 points to a driver timeout/reset rather than a dead card.
