  1. Ive spent more time staring at frame time graphs than playing... an Unreal Engine actoin game hitches in the first fight of each session. Its not constant, just these brutal little freezes. Then this showed up after a reboot:

My RX 6800 sits at moderate usage during the stutters :D What is actually happening here??

the frame time graph looks like a heart monitor during these moments, everything else feels great, sooo i really want to undrestand what is going on before tweaking random things.

  4. oh ive been there lol make sure the game and its shader cache live on an SSD, not a hard drive. Reading cached shaders from a slow disk can create hitches of its own.

  5. driver updates invalidate teh shader cache, sooo stutter returns after every update... thats expected. stutter usually reduces as u replay areas because the compiled shaders are now cached.

  6. hmmm in the NVIDIA Control Panel, set Shader Cache Size to a large value or Unlimited under Manage 3D settings. On AMD, make suree the shader cache is enabled in Adrenalins graphics settings. A cache thats too small gets evicted constantly. hope that helps :)
