  1. im literally losing my mind here a sci-fi shooter looks gorgeous on my RTX 4080, but it keeps freezing for a split second every time i enter a new area. the FPS counter says high numbers, then a spike in frame time, then smooth again. after teh latest driver install i also got this notice:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    I lowered every setting and it didn't help at all. Is this my PC, or is this teh infamous shader compilation stutter?

    ive already tried lowering settings, turning off ray tracing and capping teh frame rate. the average FPS barely matters, its these hithces that ruin the experience. any ideas are welcome. seriously need help here 😭

  3. lol same thing happened to me in the NVIDIA Control Panel, set Shader Cache Size to a large value or Unlimited under Manage 3D settings. On AMD, make suree teh shader cache is enabled in Adrenalins graphics settings lmao A cache thats too small gets evcited constantly. fingers crossed 🤞

  4. ok so driver updates invalidate the shader cache, sooo stutter returns after every update. thats expected :) stutter usually reduces as u replay areas cuz teh compiled shaders are now cached.

  7. @farah.kowalski16 let the shader compile step run fully this time and set the cache to unlimited. the stutter is mostly gone in a sci-fi shooter. thanks for explaining what was actually happening.
