Windows Update finds nothing. Where do drivers for this hide????

    thats the last missing driver on my older desktop. SM Bus Controller with Code 28, everything seems to work fine, but Id rather not leave it like this in case its something like teh card reader or power management. im happy to share any details from Device Manager if it helps. I just dont know which information is the most useful for identifying the device. thx in advance!!

    ahh classic it's usually safe to leave a non-critical device without a driver, but chipset-related devices can affect power management and sleep. Worth fixing.

    yeahhh get teh hardware ID: Device Manager > right-click the device > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids... the VEN_xxxx part is the vendor and DEV_xxxx is the device. that pair identifies the chip precisely.

    pro tip: write down what u change... i didnt and had to redo driver-request from scratch hope that helps :)

    @tariq_ember-3on omggg the hardware ID led me straight to the right package in teh Update Catalog... code 28 gone.. 😤 thanks for teaching me how to look it up. cant believe it was that simple lol
