Ive used air coolers for every build sooo far. This time Im tempted by an AIO mostly cuz the full tower would look cleaner through the glass. But I keep reading about pump whine and leaks. For ppl who have run both, what did u prefer day to day? If youve had an AIO fail, Id love to hear what it was like 馃槶 Did u notice early warning signs, or did the temperatures just suddenly jump?
Quiet, Cool, Or Pretty. Pick Two For Your 12-Core CPU
Accepted solution
Jump to the replyyeahhh for small-form-factor builds, low-profile air coolers often lose to an AIO cuz theres no room for a tall heatsink. It really depends on the case.
im literally losing my mind here lol this thread is gold what am i doing wrong??
the full tower supports quite tall air coolers and a 280 mm radiator up front. idk what else to say tbh
uhh which version are u on?? ?
yeahhh if you go AIO, mount the radiator so teh pump isnt the highest point of teh loop. Front mount with tubes at teh bottom, or top mount, both avoid air collecting in teh pump. good luck man!
dumb question but how do i even check the cable... have u checked ur cooling settings? mine were reset after an update ??
Check clearances before choosing: air cooler height against the cases maximum, and radiator mounting positions for the AIO. The open-frame case spec sheet lists both. fingers crossed 馃
@hquintero yesss chose the AIO for looks in the full tower, mounted with tubes at the bottom like sugegsted... no pump noise sooo far and it looks great.
