  1. i bought a souls-like at launch and it stutters in the first fight of each session. Its like teh game is thinking for half a second, i also saw this:

i've read that shader cache size and drivres matter, but every guide says smth different. can someone explain it simply?

the game runs from an SSD and my drivers are current, friends with similar PCs report the same thing, so maybe it's not just me, but i'd still like to reduce it. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. been there man if the stutter is constant and not tied to new content, check that its not something else: disable overlays, check RAM is running in dual channel, and watch for background tasks during play.

  3. ok so make sure the game and its shader cache live on an SSD, not a hard drive. reading cached shdaers from a slow disk can create hitches of its own.

been there man in the NVIDIA Control Panel, set Shader Cache Size to a large value or Unlimited under Manage 3D settings. on AMD, make sure the shader cache is enabled in Adrenalin's graphics settings. A cache that's too small gets evicted cosntantly.

  5. clearing the shader cache is sometimes recommended, but Id avoid it unless the cache is corrupted 😅 clearing it just makes the game recompile everything again.

  7. @yadler WOWWW knowing it comes back after driver updates helps alot. i stopped panicking, played through the areas once, and it's smooth now.
