    i buoght an indie roguelike on sale, was super excited, double-clicked it and got this:

    It says MSVCP140_1.dll is missing. This is after moving my library to a new drive, so maybe something didn't get installed? A quick search shows a million sketchy sites offering the DLL as a download, and I really don't wanna grab random files. What is teh proper fix?

    I'm on Windows 11, fully updated as far as I know. other games from the same store run fine, which makes me think it's smth small. I just want to fix it properly and not create new problems.

    Check the games own install folder for a _CommonRedist or Redist folder. Many games ship the exact redistributable they need there. Run teh vc_redist.x64.exe from inside it.

    hmm idk respectfully disagree, i tried that and it made roguelike worse. reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets

    @bea_solid The repair option did it. Registry cleaner is uninstalled and never coming back 🤷 Everything runs again.
