  1. long time lurker first post lol my secondhand mining card has started showing artifacts in the BIOS screen... colored blocks, stretched polygons, flickering lines across the screen:

    gpu artifacts

it doesnt crash right away, but its getting more frequent. i updated the driver yesterday and nothing changed... is this teh beginning of the end for the card, or is there smth i can fix? im trying to stay calm, but the card isnt cheap to replace, if theres a way to narrow down whether its teh card or smth else, Id like to try it first. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  3. The key question is where teh artifacts appear. If they show up in teh BIOS or boot screen, before any driver loads, its almost certainly hardware: VRAM or teh GPU itself. lmk how it goes

  4. try a different cable and monitor. A bad cable gives sparkles and dropouts, but rarely the structured colored blocks that VRAM faults produce.
