Got a proposal from an SEO consultant for an affiliate blog, and a big part of it revolves around word count targets. It sounded convincing in teh meeting, but afterwards i found forum posts calling it outdated. Im not trying to bash anyone, i just wanna know if this is still a sensible priority in your expeirence. Not looking for a fight, just hnoest experience from people whove tested it. thx in advance!!
IGNORING WORD COUNT TARGETS COMPLETELY ON AN AFFILIATE BLOG. BAD IDEA??
Accepted solution
Jump to the replykeyword density is a leftover from early search engines. use the words your readers use naturally, in titles and headings where they fit, and cover related subtopics. forcing a percentage makes text worse.
the consultant wants every page of an affiliate blog rewritten around word count targets. that's a lot of hours. sorry for the wall of text lol
@quiet_loop omg finally I'll run a small test on ten pages and compare clicks over a couple of months. Glad I asked before committing to the whole site.
GOOGLE VISITS MY CATEGORY PAGES AND THEN JUST... IGNORES THEM?
