Accepted solution by Sana Okafor — Update the BIOS. Some older boards need updates to properly detect newer NVMe drives.
  1. trying to do a fresh insatll of Windows on my second M.2 drive, and teh installer says there are no drives:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    It asks me to load a driver, but I don't know which one. The drive shows in the BIOS, so it's not completely dead. What am I missing? lol I'd rather not spend hours searching random forums for drivers, especially when I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Any pointers would save my evening.

  3. i'd be careful switching from RST/VMD to AHCI on an exsiting Windows install 😂 without preparation, it can cause a boot failure. loading teh driver is safer. idk maybe im wrong lol
