  1. hmmmm ok trying to do a fresh install of Windows on my PCIe 4.0 SSD, and the installer says there are no drives:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    it asks me to load a driver, but idk which one, the drive shows in teh BIOS, sooo its not completely dead. what am I missing? id rather not spend hours searching random forums for drivers, especially when Im not sure what Im looking for. any pointers would save my evening.

  3. sorry forgot to say its in teh second M.2 slot, which the manual says shares lanes with SATA ports 5 and 6. hope thats enough info 馃槄

  4. oof check whether the slot is M.2 NVMe, M.2 SATA, or both. an M.2 SATA drive in an NVMe-only slot (or the reverse) won't be detected.

  5. many boards share PCIe lanes between certain M.2 slots and SATA ports. using that M.2 slot can disable one or two SATA ports. check teh manual's lane-sharing table; it explains the disappearing SATA drive. good luck man!
