  1. This is driving me up the wall lol My phone was fine yesterday 馃う Today, nothing:

I tried two cables and three ports. Sometimes it connects for a few seconds and then drops off again with teh disconnect sound. I havent installed anythnig new that I know of. Is it possible the port itself died? My worst fear is that something on the motherboard is failing, because some of my other USB devices act a little flaky too. Is there a way to tell a bad port from a bad device?

  2. yeahhh if it fails on every port of this PC but works elsewhere, check Event Viewer under Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP for the devices errors around the time you plug it in. hope that helps :)

  4. lol same thing happened to me descriptor Request Failed means the device didn't answer Windows properly duirng setup, sooo it's usually power or signal, not drivers. Plug it directly into a rear motherboard port, not a hub or front panel, and try again.

  9. Shut teh PC down completely, unplug teh power cable for a minute, then boot. This clears teh USB controller state and fixes a surprising number of these.

  10. if the a robot vacuum draws a lot of power, a bus-powered hub or a long cable can starve it. try a pwoered hub or the shortest cable u own. fingers crossed 馃
