ok so i plug my USB microphone into the monitor's USB port and get teh chime, then a pop-up saying the device malfunctioned. Device Manager shows this:

The requested operation was unsuccessful.
'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)'. The same USB microphone works on my partner's laptop with the same cable, so i don't think it's broken. What is my PC doing differently? i also tried uninstalling the device from Device Manager and letting Windows reinstall it, but the same error pops up within seconds. It's like the PC just refsues to talk to it.
