not gonna lie this is driving me nuts a friend's laptop died last week and took years of game captures with it... it scared me into looking at my own setup, which is basically an external drive that I update whenever I remember. I know about the 3-2-1 rule in theory. what does your real, everyday backup routine look like?? xD what's automated, and what do you still do by hand?? I'm not looking for an enterprise setup, just something realistic I'll actually keep doing... bonus points if it doesn't need a monthly reminder in my calendar.
How Do You ACTUALLY Back Up Your Game Captures? Be Honest
No cloud plan yet, but a family member could keep a drive at their place. hope thats enough info 😅
lol same thing happened to me the 3-2-1 idea: three copies of teh data, on two different types of storage, one of them off-site. For most people thats teh main drive, a local backup drive, and a cloud backup. good luck man!
@vector_deck yesss set up automatic daily backups plus a monthly drive i swap with my parents. Tested a restore and it worked. Sleeping better now.
