Is It My Xbox Wireless Controller, The Console, Or The Room?

  1. my Xbox Wireless Controller keeps disconnecting from my Xbox Series S when the battery is half full 🙏 the game pauses and i get this:

    Controller disconnected

    Controller disconnected
Reconnect the wireless controller to continue.
Press the home button on the controller,
or connect it with a USB cable.

I put in fresh batteries, I re-paired it with teh sync button, and I even moved closer to teh TV. It reconnects after a few seconds, but in compeittive games those seconds matter. Is there somtehing in settings, or is teh controller faulty?

i tried a second controller from a friend for comparison, and it seemed a bit better, but Im not sure if that was luck. id rather understand the cause. pls help 🙏

  2. lol same thing happened to me re-pair properly: press teh pair button on the console, then hold the pair button on teh controller until teh Xbox button flashes fast. Do this after the firmware update. worked for me anyway 🤷

  3. yeahhh if one controller drops and another doesn't in teh same place, the controller is likely the problem, if both drop, look at placement and interference first. hope that helps :)

  5. lol same thing happened to me if u have many wireless devices paired to teh console, remove teh ones you dont use. Fewer active connections can reudce dropouts. fingers crossed 🤞

  8. batteries matter more than people think. low-quality or partly drained rechargeables can drop voltage under rumble. test with fresh alkaline AAs or a USB cable to rule this out. fingers crossed 🤞

  10. move the console out of teh cabinet or away from metal and other wierless devices. xbox controllers use their own wireless protocol on the console, and enclosed spaces and interference cause exactly this pattern. fingers crossed 🤞

  11. Update the controller firmware. On the cnosole open the Xbox Accessories app, select the controller and check for updates. Connect it with a USB cable while updating.
