My ROG Ally X's GPU Vanished After Reinstalling Windows

    so annoyed rn after reinstalling Windows, the GPU on my ROG Ally X stopped working. device Manager shows this:

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    code 10. i tried restarting a few times. im not very experienced with Windows drivers. can anyone walk me through what to do next?

    i'm comfortable following steps in Device Manager if someone explains them, i just don't want to make things worse or end up resetting the whole thing.

    the rest of the device seems fine. its just this one part that stopped working, which makes me think its a softawre issue rather than hardware.

    Is there a restore point from before a Windows update?

    yeahhh use System Restore to go back to a point before the problem started, if u have one. Search for Create a restore point and choose System Restore. good luck man!

    If Windows Update keeps repalcing the driver, u can use the Show or hide updates troubleshooter from Microsoft to hide that specific driver update.

    Download the latest driver for ur exact model from the manufacturers support page or through their companion app. Avoid generic drivers for handheld-specific parts.

    hmm idk id avoid hiding updates for too long. Some driver updates include fixes, so check for a newer version from the manufacturer regularly. but hey ymmv
