  1. long time lurker first post lol found the coolest built-in Windows tool. powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\temp\battery.html" writes a detailed battery report wherever you like. it has reecnt usage, battery drain over the last few days, and a life estimate at full charge versus at design capacity.

theres also powercfg /energy which watches teh system for a minute and reports power efficiency problems... why is this buried in a command and not in Settings? pls help 🙏

RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  4. ok so cycle count isn't always populated. Some batteries don't report it to Windows, so a blank field doesn't mean anything is wrong. lmk how it goes

  7. hmmm capacity etsimates come from the batterys own controller. theyre a good guide, not a lab measurement, so look at the trend over time.

  8. ok so powercfg /sleepstudy is great on laptops with Modern Standby... it shows what drained teh battery while the lid was closed. worked for me anyway 🤷

  10. wait what don't panic about the number. lithium batteries losing 20-30% over a few years is normal wear, not a defect.
