Accepted solution by Ada Mendes — oof heat is teh other big battery killer. A charge limit plus not blokcing the vents helps more than either alone. lmk how it goes
  1. hmmmm ok if your laptop mostly stays on the charger, check for a charge limit:

    1. Look in the manufacturers utility app (Vantage, MyASUS, Dell Power Manager/Optimizer, HPs BIOS options, etc.).
    2. Or check the BIOS under power or battery settings. 3... pick a limit like 80% for desk use.
    3. turn it off before a trip when you need full capacity.

My battery report showed my old laptop lost a lot of capacity sitting at 100% for years. The new one is getting a limit from day one. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. hmmmm quick q what brand and model is your laptop? The setting name and location differ a lot.
