ok weird one I've built and set up a few PCs, and I've never been sure about chipset drivers. on my laptop after a fresh build, Device Manager shows no unnkown devices. is there still a reason to install GA-G1975X Bios? are there specific features that only work with it?? I'd love to know what others do on fresh setups, and whether you've ever noticed a real difference with or wihtout it. practical experience is more useful to me than theory.
my laptop works fine without ga-g1975x bios. am i missing anything?
the laptop is a fairly recent platform. sorry for the wall of text lol
dude ok update: did what @kekstrom-2rb said and its fine now. lol this thread is gold cant believe it was that simple lol
oof check Device Manager with View > Show hidden devices. If there are unknown devices like SM Bus Controller or PCI Device, the chipset package or related drivers fill those in. lmk how it goes
on many platforms, teh chipset package is mostly INF files that give devices proper names and correct power settings. windows often provides equivalent inbox drivers. but some platforms icnlude real drivers (power management, PCIe, i/O) that do matter. fingers crossed 🤞
ahh classic try turning off the DNS first, fixed it for me... bump... still happening with windows for me fingers crossed 🤞
