  1. general question for the people here: when a new audio driver makes things worse (jack detection broke, in my case), how do u get the old one back?? im on a desktop running something from macOS. id love a method that doesnt involve skecthy driver download sites... also, is there any real risk in running an older audio driver for a while, security-wise or otherwise?? id like to understand teh trade-off before committing.

  2. The Microsoft Update Catalog lists many driver packages by hardware ID 馃槄 Search for your deviecs hardware ID (Device Manager > Properties > Details > Hardware Ids) and pick an older entry. Download, extract the .cab, and install the INF via Device Manager > Have Disk. worked for me anyway 馃し

  4. ok so before downloading, check whehter Windows still has teh old package: pnputil /enum-drivers lists everything in the driver store with dates and versions, if its there, Device Manager > Update driver > Let me pick will show it.
