guys pls help USB is acting cursed on my laptop.

a USB hub drops out at random, and the port stays dead until a restart, i updated teh chipset drievr from ECS last week, and thats when it started... i checked Device Manager and sometimes a USB controller shows a warning. What should i look at first? Ive already tried another cable and a different device in teh same port. Id rather not replace teh motherboard if a setting can fix it. what am i doing wrong??
