  1. im planning a fresh install on my home server and wondering how to handle storage drivers this time. should i go with the vendors Maximus V GENE AMD AHCI Driver and RAID/VMD mode, or AHCI and the inbox driver? xD priority for me is speed 馃槫 what would you choose and why? im comfortable changing BIOS settings, i just want to make the decision once and not regret it later. what would you do in my shoes? thx in advance!!

  2. Some SSD makers offer their own NVMe driver. In most cases the inbox driver performs comparably; only switch if u have a specific issue or feature need.

  3. ahh classic for dual booting Linux, AHCI/non-VMD mode is often simpler, thuogh newer kernels supprot VMD in many cases. fingers crossed 馃

  4. ahh classic for a single SSD, the inbox Standard NVM Express Controller driver is solid and gets updates through Windows. Vendor drivers matter mainly for RAID arrays, Optane-style caching, or platforms that use VMD by default. hope that helps :)

  6. Inbox drivers are great until a specific issue appears that only the vendor driver fixes. It depends on the hardware.
