    oof open mmsys.cpl, right-click the empty space and tick Show Disabled Devices lmao Sometimes teh update laeves teh speaker endpoint disabled rather than missing. fingers crossed 馃

    Accepted solution

    run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth if the generic driver also fails. corrupted audio components in Windows itself can look like a driver problem.

    @lucky_fox-31v dude rolled back in Device Manager and sound came back instantly on teh desk speakers. Hid the update sooo it doesn't sneak back. Thank you! u guys are the best!!!
