been there man for USB mics, try a port directly on the PC, not a hub, and check Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers for errors. A USB controller driver issue can hide the mic. good luck man!

rgb adds +10 fps everyone knows that

  1. two hours of troubleshooting and my XLR mic through an interface is still invisible to Windows.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    what i've tried: unplugging, other ports, teh sound troubleshooter, reinstalling the video call app. the Realtek AC97 Audio Driver update is the only change on this macihne.. :) i'd really like to know what to check, in order, because i'm starting to change random settings and that never ends well. also, output works perfeclty, so it's only the input side that's broken. any help is appreciated. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  5. check privacy first, its teh most common cause: Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone, make sure Microphone access is on, Let apps access ur microphone is on, and Let desktop apps access your microphone is on. updates sometimes reset these. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. lol same thing happened to me some vendor audio suites have their own jack detetcion or device toggle that overrides Windows. Open the vendors console app (if installed) and check whether teh mic input is disabled or reassigned there. worked for me anyway 🤷

  7. yeahhh if nothing works, install the full audio package from the PC or motherboard makers support page, then reboot. A partial update from Windows Update can leave teh input side broken while output still works. fingers crossed 🤞
