guys pls help USB is acting cursed on my gaming PC.

an external drive drops out at random, and the port stays dead until a restart... i updated the chipset driver from Shuttle last week, and thats when it started, i checked Device Manager and sometimes a USB cnotroller shows a warning. What should i look at first? Ive already tried another cable and a different device in teh same port. Id rather not replace the motherboard if a setting can fix it. im about to throw this thing out the window lol
