my phone works on the same wi-fi, my gaming laptop doesnt 😭

    hmmmm ok my gaming laptop connects to Wi-Fi at a hotel just fine, full bars, but then shows "No internet, secured" and nothing loads. my phone on teh same network works perfectly... this started right after i installed Linksys WCF12 - Wireless CompactFlash Card . heres what Windows shows:

No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

    Ive restarted the router, forgotten the network, rebooted teh PC. Sometimes it starts working for ten minutes and then goes back to no internet. Im out of basic ideas. Is there a methodical way to fgiure out whether its teh driver, DNS, or smth else?

    lol same thing happened to me reset teh network stack in an admin terminal:

    netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /flushdns

    Then reboot. Or use Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset, which also reinstalls adapters.

    hmm idk sometimes teh routers band steering or WPA3 transition mode clashes with a new driver. testing on a different router setting is worth it before blaming the driver alone.

    @ufontaine yesss rolled back WCF12 - Wireless CompactFlash Card and teh PC gets a normal IP again. will report it to Linksys. owe u a beer 🍺
