it happens as soon as i open printer settings or print from the photo app. the new driver for the laser printer from Canon is my main suspect, but i cant even open the printer properties to remove it because the spooler dies first. is there a safe way to remove a printer driver when teh spooler keeps crashing? seriously need help here 😭

  2. lol same thing happened to me reinstall with a clean package from the printer makers support page. If they offer a basic driver and a full software suite, try the basic driver first; its less likely to load extra components into the spooler.

  3. Check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application for Application Error events with faulting application spoolsv.exe. the faulting module name usually points at teh printer driver DLL responsible. good luck man!

been there man if the UI wont stay up long enough, use the command line: printui /s /t2 opens the drivers tab directly, and pnputil /enum-drivers + pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall /force removes the package from the driver store.

  8. @maya.ziegler removed the crashing driver package with pnputil and installed the basic driver for the laser printer. the spooler has been stable for days.
