This started after the audio driver update from Creative. Output works fine, i can hear everything, which makes it extra confusing. i tested the USB microphone on another computer and it works there, sooo the hardware is fine 🔥 What did the update change on my side, and how do i undo it?

  2. oof some vendor audio suites have their own jack detection or device toggle that overrides Windows. open teh vendors console app (if installed) and check whether the mic input is disabled or reassigned there. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. check privacy first, its the most common cause: Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone. make suree Microphone access is on, Let apps access your microphone is on, and Let dsektop apps access ur mircophone is on. updates sometiems reset these. hope that helps :)

  8. hmmm for USB mics, try a port directly on teh PC, not a hub, and check Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus controllers for errors. A USB controller driver issue can hide teh mic. fingers crossed 🤞
