  1. im literally losing my mind here front audio on my prebuilt gaming PC died after a driver update. rear audio is totally fine.

i tried two different studio headphones, both work in the rear port and on my phone. The vendor audio app used to show a little popup when i plugged into the front, and that popup never appears now. Is there a setting the update could have changed, or do i need to open the case?

  4. lol same thing happened to me roll back teh audio driver in Device Manager > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver as a quick test. if teh front jack works again, it's the driver. lmk how it goes

  5. If none of that helps, open the case and check that the HD_AUDIO front panel connector is fully seated on the motherboard header. Coincidences happen, and a half-loose connector can fail jack detcetion.

  6. nah tbh disabling jack detection is a workaround, not a fix. it works, but ull have to switch outputs manually. idk maybe im wrong lol

  7. @yara_late yesss disabling front panel jack detection in the console app made it show up as a separate device. Not elegant, but it works fine. thank u thank u thank u
