  1. ok weird one short story: Wi-Fi breaks after resuming from hibernate, and only a reboot fixes it.

    Network & internet

    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi • HomeNet_5G
    No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

Longer story: the 2-in-1 tabelt uses Modern Standby, I think, cuz it never realy turns off when the lid is closed ;) After the AOpen DEX4502 Intel Lan Driver update, teh adapter sometimes vanishes completely from teh network list after waking. Once it even disappeared from Device Manager until I rebooted. Id love to understnad what is going on before trying rnadom fixes.

  4. in Device Manager > Network adapters > your Wi-Fi aadpter > Properties > Power Management, untick Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. this is the most common cause of Wi-Fi not coming back after sleep. good luck man!

  5. lol same thing happened to me as a stopgap, netsh wlan show interfaces tells u the state after waking, and restarting the WLAN service (net stop wlansvc then net start wlansvc in an admin terminal) is quicker than a reboot.

  6. lol same thing happened to me look in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System around the wake time for events from the Wi-Fi driver or WLAN-AutoConfig. A driver that fails to resume usually logs an error there.

  7. on teh Advanced tab of teh same adapter, look for options like MIMO Power Save Mode, Roaming Aggressiveness or Power Saving Mode and set power saving to the maximum performance/disabled value as a test.

  8. oh ive been there lol if it started with the upadte, roll back: Device Manager > adapter > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver. if its greyed out, install teh previous packgae from teh Intel or laptop makers support page.

  9. ehh disabling power saving costs a bit of battery. rolling back to a driver that sleeps properly is the cleaner fix if the old one worked. idk maybe im wrong lol
