  1. long time lurker first post lol i installed the ASUS EN8800 Series VGA Driver 197.45 update last night and this morning my gaming desktop looked like this on teh desktop:

    gpu artifacts

little colored blocks, flickering lines, sometimes a whole strip of the screen goes green for a momnet. it doesn't crash, it just looks horrible. my stomach dropped cuz artifacts usually mean dying hardware, right? but it's suspicious that it started exactly after the update 😭 how do i tell which one it is without spending money??

ok so your BIOS observation is a good clue. If artifacts appear only after Windows loads teh driver, but not in BIOS or in Safe Mode (which uses teh Microsoft Basic Display Adapter), that leans towards driver/software. If they show up in BIOS too, think hardware. fingers crossed 🤞

  4. @vik_tiny yesss removed the memory overclock and the artifacts on teh desktop disappeared even on EN8800 Series VGA Driver 197.45, the update just exposed an OC that was never stable. u guys are the best!!!
