  1. long time lurker first post lol okay, this is driving me nuts... black screen, fans ramp up, and about five seconds later Windows comes back like nothing happened... then this pops up:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    Its always while running a 3D benchmark. My gaming desktop is not overclocked and temps look normal in the vendor overlay. The only change I can point to is teh Catalyst Display Driver RC11 update from AMD. Ive already restarted a dozen times, obviously. Is there a log somewhere that tells me what actually timed out, or am I stuck guessing? seriously need help here 😭

  3. sorry forgot to say event Viewer is full of 4101 warnings, and every one matches a black screen while running a 3D benchmark. sorry for the wall of text lol

  5. oof also turn off any GPU overclock or undervolt profile, including factory "OC mode" in the vendor app. A new driver can expose an undervolt that was only barely stable before.

  7. hmmm check power before blaming the drievr. A PSU thats borderline or a daisy-chained PCIe cable can cause exactly this under load. If its a desktop, use two separate PCIe power cables if teh card has two connectors.

  8. hmmm if rollback doesnt help, do a clean install: download the driver you want first, disconnect from the internet sooo Windows Update doesnt push its own, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), then install teh downloaded package.. 😂 leftover profiles from older versions cause more of these than people think. good luck man!

  12. lol same thing happened to me since it started right after the update, roll back first. Device Manager > Display adapters > right-click ur GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver. If the button is greyed out, download the previous package from the AMD support page and install that instead. fingers crossed 🤞

  13. ahh classic some ppl raise TdrDelay in teh registry to hide this. i wouldnt start there: it just gives the GPU longer to hang and doesnt fix anytihng... use it as a diagnostic at most, and remove it afterwards.
