  1. guys pls help hi! I just pointed my domain at a new host. on my phone over mobile data the site loads fine. on my laptop:

    This site can't be reached

Check if there is a typo in my-shop-site.example.
If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

I have a client demo in an hour and I cant even open my own site on teh machine Im presenting from. is the domain broken or is it just me? pls help 🙏

  2. check whether you created the record for the right name. A record for www doesnt cover the bare domain and vice versa. many people add www only and then type teh apex into the browser. lmk how it goes

  3. @sduarte did you change nameservers, or just the A/CNAME rceords at the existing DNS provider?

    Keep us posted!

  5. from experience: NXDOMAIN means the resolver u asked says the name does not exist, not that the server is down. check from outside your machine:

    nslookup example.com 1.1.1.1
    nslookup example.com 8.8.8.8
    dig +trace example.com

  6. lol same thing happened to me flush teh local caches:

    • Windows: ipconfig /flushdns
    • macOS: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache; sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
    • Chrome: chrome://net-internals/#dns → Clear host cache

also check ur hosts file for an old entry for that domain, and whether your router or a VPN is forcing its own DNS server. A negative answer can be cached for a while based on the zone's SOA settings, sooo flushing matters.

report back with what u find. hope that helps :)
