  1. ok so genuine question about update philosophy. my PC is stable on the driver my PC came with. the new GA-Z77X-UP5 TH Intel VGA Driver lists fixes that dont realy affect me. do you update anyway for secruity and compatibility, or do u only update when a game or app needs it? I mostly do streaming. I am curious how other ppl handle this, especially anyone who depends on their PC for work and cannot afford a broken evening. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  2. keep a short log of what driver ure on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates).. 馃槄 when something breaks later, u'll know if the timnig matches.

  6. oh ive been there lol for programming and some games, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. If theres a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, thats usually the better fit. hope that helps :)

  7. driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so i wouldnt stay on a very old version forever. but waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

  10. my approach: make a restore point, download the previous drievr package sooo its ready, then try the new one. if anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. that makes updating a low-risk experiment.

  13. Read the release notes on teh Gigabyte support page before anything else. They list fixed issues and known issues. If a known issue matches your setup, wait; if the fixes dont touch you, theres no rush.

  14. i update on day one and have very few issues. Most problems people report are leftovers from upgrading over old installs, not the driver itself.

  15. @nimbussprite-3p5 updated with a restore point and the old installer ready, no issues at all for streaming... good to have a plan isntead of fear. owe u a beer 馃嵑
