i use my PC for machine learning experiments and some gaming, work by day, games at night. NVIDIA offers different driver branches: a gaming-focused one with frequent releases and a more conservative one aimed at creators. the Graphics Driver 310.19 for FreeBSD Im on now is teh gaming one. should i switch? what do i lose and gain? i would appreciate hearing from people who switched in either direction and why. im about to throw this thing out the window lol
Studio Vs Game Ready: Which NVIDIA Driver Branch For Machine Learning Experiments?
broadly: gaming branches ship faster with optimizations for new releases. studio/stable branches ship less often and focus on validation with creative apps. both run games and apps fine. the difference is cadence and test focus, not capability. hope that helps :)
@mayaa206 Staying on teh gaming branch since Ive had no problems, but now I know switching is easy if I ever need to. Thanks! seriously made my day 😭🙏
