Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.9.1 Hotfix Update Refuses To Install On My Gaming Laptop. But The Page Says It Supports My OS!

    long time lurker first post lol i downloaded AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.9.1 Hotfix Update , the download page celarly lists Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Im on one of those. i ran teh express install on my gaming laptop and got this:

We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

Error code: 0x800f0922

    It says the driver isnt compatible with this version of Windows. Ive rebooted, run it as admin, redownloaded it. Same thing. My current driver is quite old and i need teh new one for a game. Why would teh installer refuse when the OS is listed? any ideas??

    hmmm make sure you picked the right architecture and the right OS family. A package meant for a different Windows edition, or a server/workstation branch, will refuse with the same generic text.

    Check your Windows build with winver. newer driver packages can require a minimum feature update. if ure on an old build, install teh pending feature update first and try again. good luck man!

    hmmmm not sure about that everyone keeps saying this but nobody posts proof... spent all weekend on radeon and im still not done
