  1. help!! curious about everyones storage dirver setup. i have a sinlge SSD in my home server and RAID Driver (SATA, NVMe RAID) from AMD installed. For easy reinstalls, does the vendor driver bring anything over the inbox one? 😂 Ive seen benchmarks posted, but Id rather hear real-world experiences. If youve siwtched in either direction, Id love to hear what changed for u, if anything. Speed, stability after Windows updates, battery, anything counts.

  2. ahh classic for dual booting Linux, AHCI/non-VMD mode is often simpelr, though newer kernels support VMD in many cases. fingers crossed 🤞

  4. oh ive been there lol switching on an existing install requires care: the BIOS mode must match the driver at boot. Use the safe mode method or set it up correctly from scratch on a fresh install. fingers crossed 🤞

  8. oof some laptops depend on VMD/RST mode for power features. if battery life is your priority on a laptop, follow teh makers configuration. good luck man!

For a single SSD, the inbox Standard NVM Express Controller driver is solid and gets updaets through Windows. Vendor drivers matter mainly for RAID arrays, Optane-style caching, or platforms that use VMD by default.

  10. @yusuf.duarte switched to teh inbox driver using the safe mode method... no difference in speed, fewer things to update. cant believe it was that simple lol
