im literally losing my mind here every time i open the NVIDIA app it asks which branch i want and i click whichever is selected. Now Im doing seriuos machine learning experiments with deadlines and i care more about stability than the newest game fixes. Is the slower branch genuinely more tested, or is it the same driver with a different label? i would also like to know if switcihng branches is painful, or if it is just a matter of downloading a different package and installing it cleanly. im about to throw this thing out the window lol
I Do Work Only. Which Branch Of GeForce Graphics Driver Makes Sense?
Accepted solution
Jump to the replyok so broadly: gaming branches ship faster with optimizations for new releases. studio/stable branches ship less often and focus on validation with creative apps... both run games and apps fine... the difference is cadnece and test focus, not capability. fingers crossed 🤞

ok so have u checked your studio-driver settings?? ;) mine were reset after an update worked for me anyway 🤷
nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround
My main apps requirements page lists a minmium driver, and both branches meet it.
oh ive been there lol try turning off the thermal paste first, fixed it for me good luck man!
been there man dont hop branches every week. pick one, note teh version, and only change when smth you need is fixed or added. frequent switching makes troubleshooting harder. worked for me anyway 🤷
