if problems happen when others stream video, enable SQM or QoS on your router if it supports it. bufferbloat is a common cause of lag when the connection is busy even though speed tests look fine.

  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts my friends play a competitive shooter from the same city with no problems, but i rubber-band every evening. Im on a powerline adapter, and i got this:

    Network & internet

    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi • HomeNet_5G
    No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

I'm ready to call my ISP, but I wanna be sure it's not my own setup first.

id like to collect some real data before i call support, so they cant just tell me to restart the router again. what should i measure?? thx in advance!!

  2. Does a continuous ping to ur own router show any loss? ??

  3. hmmm measure where teh loss happens... run pathping 8.8.8.8 (or teh game servers IP if known) on Windows. It shows packet loss per hop. Loss at ur first hop (your rouetr) means a local problem; loss starting further out points to teh ISP or route.

  5. hmm idk I'd not immediately buy new hardware. changing the Wi-Fi channel or moving the router can fix interference for free.
