thread for the unpaid IT department of every family. my latest: my uncle, 'the screen went sideways', and a solution that involved one button nobody had noitced. share yours, and if u have tricks for making family tech easier, i want those too. i'm convinced every family has a story like this, and i think we deserve a thread to share them. kind stories only, our relatives are doing their best.
why is it always 'the screen went sideways' and never a useful description??
To be fair, my uncle genuinely tries to learn. Its just that every month theres a new kind of the screen went sideways.
ahh classic best investment I ever made: setting up remote support software on every family computer. ten minutes on teh phone instead of an hour of driving. built-in tools like Quick Assist in Windows work well for this. good luck man!
oh ive been there lol teach the screenshot. If my mother-in-law learns to take and send a screenshot, half of teh mystery calls become five minute fixes. fingers crossed 馃
@basile400 omg finally thx for all teh stories, i laughed for an hour 馃敟 Being the famliy IT person feels less lonely now.
Why does my smart speaker say 'no internet' when my phone is fine??
