  1. My entry level card from years ago has served me well, but story games at 1440p is turning into a slideshow on medium settings. I have up to 700 dollars set aside :/ Every time I am about to click buy, someone says new cards are coming and prices will drop. That has happened to me three times now. At what point do u just buy the thing and enjoy it?? And if I buy now, what is the sweet spot for my budget? pls help 馃檹

  5. oof check ur bottleneck before anything else 馃槶 watch GPU usage in an overlay like MSI Afterburner while playing. if teh GPU sits near 99 percent, teh GPU is the problem. if it is low and one CPU core is maxed, a new card wont help as much as you hope.

  7. the rule i use: if the card u can buy today runs your games well for teh next couple of years, buy it, smth better is always coming... you cant play games on a card u havent bought.

  8. ok so check ur power supply wattage and the available PCIe connectors bfeore choosing. new cards can need more power or different connectors, and an underpowered PSU causes crashes that look like driver problems. hope that helps :)

  10. hmmm consider the previous generation on sale or used with a warranty. Right after a launch, older cards often get discounted, which is the one time waitnig really pays.

  11. oof also check your mnoitor xD A big GPU upgrade on a 1080p 60Hz screen is often wasted... sometimes the better upgrade for MOBAs is a higher refresh mointor paired with a modest card. lmk how it goes

  12. yeahhh if you can wait without being miserable, waiting is fine. if you are not enjoying your games right now, that cost is real too. time spent waiting is not free.
