@mnakamura yesss did it exactly in that order with the network unplugged. old driver installed, the screen resolution reset is gone, and Windows hasnt touched it in a week. thank you! seriously made my day 😭🙏

Yes, Ive got the previous package and DDU downloaded and saved to teh desktop. nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround

nah tbh I'd just reinstall cleanly in AHCI mode if it's a fresh system. less hacky. just my 2 cents
