I wouldnt uninstall the device and delete drivers on a laptop without having the full package downloaded first. You can end up with no sound and no way to get it back offline.
is the vendors audio service running in services.msc? ?
is the driver from Windows Update, the chip maker, or the laptop/PC makers support page??
