ahh classic my approach: make a restore point, download teh previous driver package sooo its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall teh old one. That makes updating a low risk experiment.

read the release notes on the AMD support page before anything else... they list fixed issues and known isuses... if a known issue matches your setup, wait; if the fixes don't touch you, there's no rush.
