ahh classic for a first build, do a test boot outside the case on the motherboard box with CPU, one RAM stick, cooler and PSU. If it posts there, everything else is cable management.

prebuilts often save money on the power supply, the motherboard, snigle channel RAM or a weak cooler. if you go prebuilt, check the full part list, not just the CPU and GPU names. worked for me anyway 🤷

keep a short log of what driver you're on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum drivers shows installed packages and dates). When smth breaks later, youll know if the timing matcehs.

yeahhh my approach: make a restroe point, download the previous driver package so its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. That makes updating a low risk experiment.

@yukiy286 dude the Update Catalog had the driver for SM Bus Controller. Installed it via Have Disk and it works. owe u a beer 🍺

ahh classic loudness equalization and similar effects compress the dynamic range. fine for late night TV, not great for music or for hearing quiet footsteps. worked for me anyway 🤷
