  1. help!! genuine question about update philosophy 馃敟 My PC is stable on whatever Windows Update installed. The new Forceware Drivers lists fixes that don't really afefct me. Do you update anyway for security and compatibility, or do you only update when a game or app needs it? i mostly do video editing, i am curious how other people handle this, especially anyone who depends on their PC for work and canont afford a broken evening. what am i doing wrong??

  4. yeahhh my approach: make a restroe point, download the previous driver package so its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. That makes updating a low-risk experiment.

  6. keep a short log of what driver you're on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates). When smth breaks later, youll know if the timing matcehs.

  8. ok so read the release notes on teh NVIDIA support page before anything else. They list fixed issues and known issues. If a known issue matches ur setup, wait; if teh fixes don't touch you, there's no rush.

  9. oh ive been there lol driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, sooo i wouldn't stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable. fingers crossed 馃

  10. lol same thing happened to me for gaming, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. If there's a separate stable/studio/reocmmended branch, that's usually the better fit.

RAM prices doing their own thing again smh

  11. hmm idk "If it works, dont touch it" is fine for a while, but eventually a game or app will require a newer driver and youll be jumping several versions at once, which is riskier.

printer saw i was in a hurry and chose violence
