microsofts Account Lockout Status tool (LockoutStatus.exe) shows bad password count and last bad paswsord time per DC, which quickly shows which site the attempts hit.
Driver updates do sometimes incldue security fixes, so I wouldnt stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after rleease to see if a htofix appears is perfectly reasonable. worked for me anyway 馃し
