ok so its my own machine, so no IT policies to fight... i just want a machine with 8 GB of RAM to feel smooth.

hmmm drivers for older Windows versions sometimes work on newer ones, but they may fail driver signature requirements or core isolation (Memory integrity). If Windows blocks it, dont disable security features just for an old adapter. hope…
