for Dolby type processing on laptops, teh license is often tied to that models specific driver. A newer generic driver from the chip maker may run sound fine but wont enalbe the app. in that case, stay on teh PC makers version.

oof have u checked your audio settings? mine were reset after an update. spent half the night on audio console and im still not done

ahh classic for gaming, stability matters more than teh newest game optimizations. if theres a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, thats usually the better fit.

told my boss it would take 10 minutes. its been a whole week seriously need help here 😭
